Donald E. Wilson is President of Evergreen Memorial Trust. He is a seasoned veteran in cemetery management, with more than thirty years service at Evergreen Burial Park. Born and raised in Mason City, Iowa, Don is a 1980 business graduate of the University of Iowa where he was a four-year letterman on the varsity swimming team. He is married to the former Lisa Ver Wey of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They are the parents of Benjamin, Jessica, and James. Don is active in a number of community service organizations, serving a term as President of the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke, and continues to be a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
Blair Graninger adds additional depth to the Evergreen group of exceptional Family Service Counselors. A native of Western Virginia (Allegheny County), she has lived the past 17 years in Franklin County, where she serves that community at Mountain View Memorial Park and Forest Rest Natural Cemetery. Blair enjoys working closely with families to assist them through difficult times in making good choices for their loved ones, and welcomes the opportunities presented with each individual family. When not assisting other families, she dedicates herself to her own, spending as much time as she can enjoying outdoor activities with her daughter, playing the piano, and singing in her church choir in Rocky Mount.
Tommy D. Whitaker has been a Family Service Director with Evergreen Burial Park since 2004. Tommy is a 1982 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. He and his wife, Jeanne, have two children, Zachary and Emily. Tommy enjoys playing church softball, working in his yard and riding his motorcycle. Tommy and his family are members of Raleigh Court United Methodist Church.
Beth Abbott is a Family Service Counselor at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. A native of Virginia’s Northern Neck, Beth and her husband, Todd, relocated to the area in 2000 and have enjoyed becoming active in their Vinton community. Beth sings and plays piano at Thrasher United Methoidst Church in “Humble Praise” and enjoys volunteering in the area and attending Salem Red Sox games with her husband and their son, Jeremy.
Melissa A. Light is Office Manager for Evergreen Memorial Trust. Her nearly thirty years experience with Evergreen brings confidence to families that the administrative aspects of commitment wishes are exactingly documented and carried out. Melissa and her husband, Doug, reside in Roanoke with their Boston terrier, Mackie Jack. When not at home, they exercise their passion for traveling on their motorcycle.
John Umber John is a family service counselor at our Mountain View Cemetery. John is a Richmond native, but grew up in northern Pennsylvania with his dad. John has always had a soft spot for being helpful which makes him an exceptional part of our team. John and his wife Aleisha moved to Roanoke after deciding they wanted more opportunities for themselves and their two boys Kamden (7) & Maddex (5) than the small town of Waverly, PA could offer them. A member of the Eagle Rock Baptist Church and the downtown Roanoke Rotary Club, John also loves snowboarding, singing karaoke, playing softball, working on his dads 1956 dodge truck, but most of all spending time with his family.
Nihkolas Tipton has been a Family Service Counselor with Evergreen Burial Park since the beginning of 2017. Nihkolas is a resident of the Grandin area and has lived here for 7 years. He is originally from Rochester Michigan where he was born and raised. Nihkolas enjoys being outdoors in the mountains with his two dogs Oliver, and Lucky and is an active member of the Grandin Road Business Association. Nihkolas brings a true dedication and concern to helping insure that our friends and families are handled with the up most care and respect.
